Help and support

Answers for grown-ups, and how to reach us.

The microphone doesn’t hear my piano

Check microphone access in Settings › Melody Town. In the app, Grown-ups › Settings › Piano mode: choose High sensitivity for quiet pianos, Low in noisy rooms. No piano? Tap “No piano here? Tap the keys instead”.

The voice is too fast

Grown-ups › Settings › Reading speed › Slower.

My child is 5 and finds it hard

Grown-ups › Settings › Play style › Storybook: everything read aloud, three letters to choose from, five hearts.

Restoring a subscription

Grown-ups › Plans › Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account.

Cancelling

Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Melody Town.

New phone, or the app was deleted: getting progress back

Melody Town has no accounts, so progress lives on the device. If the device is restored from an iCloud or computer backup, progress comes back by itself. Otherwise, on the old device go to Grown-ups › Backup and restore › Save a backup, keep the file in Files or iCloud Drive, and on the new device choose Restore from a backup. If you wrote to us for help, tap “Share support details” on the same screen and send us the text (it has no names). Purchases are separate: Grown-ups › Plans › Restore purchases.

Lesson mode

Grown-ups › Lesson mode lets a parent or teacher pick a weekly focus, such as the notes B, A and G in the treble clef. Today’s spark then follows it. Add the lesson day to see “Lesson tomorrow” on the home screen, and tap “Share with the teacher” to send a plain-text report of the week.

Starting over

Grown-ups › Settings › Start the story over (for the current player only).

Sending a report or a postcard

Grown-ups › Progress report shows the week at a glance. Tap “Share as a picture” to send it to a parent or the teacher in a message or email, or “Share as text” to paste it into a note. Grown-ups › Postcards shows every postcard your child has earned: tap one to send it, or tap Select to send several together. Only the picture or text is shared, and only where you send it.
